Five years ago the ELCA joined the worldwide efforts to flight malaria by launching the ELCA
Malaria ("Nets") Campaign with a goal to raise $156 million by 2015 to support the malaria programs of 13
countries throughout Africa. As of May we're 94% there. Bishop Eaton has announced that we have fully funded
our commitments to 10 country programs with positive results, but communities in three countries are
depending on our support. Prayerfully consider one more gift anytime this month.

Parents And Children
One of Hawaii's leading private non-profit family service agencies and a leader in
the design and delivery of a broad range of innovative social and educational services. PACT is an active partner
with numerous community efforts, coalitions, initiatives, schools and other providers, and is a prominent advocate
for the needs of Hawaii's most socio-economically challenged citizens. Every Christmas we at Christ Lutheran help
PACT out in our small way as we continue our tradition of providing 100 gifts for the infants and young children of
local families who are served by the agency.
Sector Hawaii -
Periodically throughout the year
a canned food drive takes place here at Christ Lutheran.
We support needy families of
Central & North Shore Oahu through The Private Sector Hawaii, an all-volunteer non-profit organization
that provides food, shelter, clothing and other goods and services to needy individuals and families in the
Aloha State. The Private Sector Hawaii takes care of people fifty-two weeks a year, and during the holiday
season, every food box contains a turkey or a ham along with all the trimmings to provide an abundant feast
for hungry people. As we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas, they are finding that there is an
ever-increasing demand for what they have to offer, and they can use more help than usual in filling requests
for assistance. The PSH is a 501c3 charity, and all donations are tax-deductible. Because they are an
all-volunteer organization with minimal operating expenses, all monies and goods donated go directly to those
people who can use them the most. You can help by picking up one or more “Got Food?” bags (or use any bags of
your own) and filling them with nonperishable food items to bring to church throughout the
