Sunday School Weekly Offering

A great project each season to encourage even our youngest keiki to share with, and care for, others.

The Heifer Project has been chosen as the recipient of our Sunday School offerings for the Spring of '03 and Fall '03. Boxes of children’s offering envelopes are available for each child. Heifer Project International has helped 4 million families through the gift of livestock and training, giving families a source of food rather than short-term relief. As a result, families in 115 countries have enjoyed better health, more income and the joy of helping others. Our goal is $500 this fall.

Our Sunday School offerings during Fall '02 went to the 'Stand With Africa' campaign of hope, co-sponsored by Lutheran World Relief, ELCA World Hunger program and LCMS World Relief. They support African churches and communities as they withstand HIV/AIDS, banish hunger and build peace. The Sunday School children will be getting involved in a pen pal program with South African childre. We're also collecting envelopes and 80 cent stamps. Christ Lutheran Church reaches out to community members in need. Our monthly newsletter and weekly bulletin have frequent postings of ways our members can help their neighbors.

Homeless Shelter Assistance

Toiletries for Institute for Human Services (I.H.S.) We have an on-going drive to provide "hotel-size'shampoo, soap, lotion, etc. for the IHS homeless shelters. The collection box is in the Fellowship Hall.
